Project Brief

Viveks is a long-established multi-brand retailer for electronics and home essentials, with 50+ stores across South India. WEBDIGITA delivered an end-to-end ecommerce rebuild to modernise the online experience while protecting the trust of a legacy brand.

The delivery covered UX, engineering, migration and release planning, with a focus on a fast storefront and custom buying flows for EMI and exchange offers.

The Challenge

The existing Magento 2 site was slow and difficult to change due to legacy architecture and performance debt. Viveks also needed non-standard ecommerce capability, including EMI options and exchange discounts, without adding friction to the buying journey.

The catalogue was complex, and the migration needed to move products, customers and orders reliably, with careful mapping and validation to avoid data loss or trading disruption.

The Process

We started by aligning on what "fast" meant for Viveks, then mapped the key journeys where shoppers decide: category browsing, product detail, EMI selection, exchange eligibility and checkout.

In parallel, we planned migration in detail: data mapping, validation rules, and a cutover approach that reduced risk to trading and customer history.

Delivery ran in controlled releases, with UAT gates, performance checks on key templates, and post-launch monitoring to stabilise and tune the platform.

The Build

We rebuilt the store on Laravel and Vue to regain control of performance, system boundaries and release quality. The goal was a clean architecture that could evolve without rework.

EMI and exchange were treated as core buying flows, designed into the journey and implemented as reusable logic, so promotions and rules could change without breaking checkout.

We also designed for scale: complex categories, large catalogue browsing, and stable operations on AWS with Cloudflare for delivery and protection.
